Wow - what a busy term for sporting events!
This week we took a group of Year 3 and 4 pupils to a Multi Sports Festival at BGN.
The event was organised by NOSSP and activities led by Sports leaders from BGN - many of them ex Bishop Loveday pupils.
With the School Games value of Determination, pupils really enjoyed trying new sports including: archery, bench ball, dodge ball, boccia and new age kurling. They also had a lovely time mixing with pupils from other local schools from: Orchard Fields, Hardwick, St Joseph's and St Mary's Aston-Le-Walls. Everyone received a certificate for taking part and Logan, Rex, Essa, Amelia, Faith, Riana, Freddie & TJ received a certificate for demonstrating super determination.

5SJ had an amazing morning at BGN this week taking part in the NOSSP Sportshall Athletics event.
We were joined by Year 5 & 6 pupils from St Mary's Aston Le Walls and St Joseph's school with activities led by Sports leaders from BGN school.
Everyone competed at running, jumping & throwing events. Running relays consisted of different lengths of the hall, some on the flat and some involved obstacles. The jumping included standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jumps and speed bounce, whilst the throwing events were the chest push and soft javelin. The team spirit and encouragement shown by everyone to all the competitors really boosted their confidence and really made for a lively atmosphere. Well done 5SJ - what fabulous ambassadors for Bishop Loveday.

This week our Sports Leaders spent a morning at BGN being trained to lead the activities at the Year 1 Multi Skills Festival next week.
We were joined by Year 5 & 6 leaders from Orchard Fields, Longford Park & St Mary's Aston Le Walls and Year 7 leaders from BGN. The training was led by Rory from NOSSP.
The Year 6 children were totally engaged throughout the morning and really enjoyed mixing with their peers from other local schools. They are really looking forward to putting all their new skills into practise next - I'm sure they'll be amazing.

Well done everyone who took part in our annual event to raise money for this well deserving local charity. We all enjoyed taking part in fun relay races, wearing our Santa hats and dancing to the Christmas tunes on the playground.
Thank you to all who have already donated through our Just Giving page. If you would still like to make a donation of any amount, please follow the link below. Every little will help Katharine House, and we know they help so many people in the Banbury area.
Merry Christmas everyone!
